Note:: I have been negligent in not recording the comments for almost a year. Sorry, Howard
Dear Janice,
Janice-I just wanted you to know the clock I ordered from you arrived yesterday.
It is truly beautiful and a treasure. I attached a photo of it for you, in its "new home."
Thank you so much for the expeditious and professional manner in which you handled this transaction.
Thanks also for the unbelievable way it was packaged. I think it could have survived Hurricane Katrina.
I used a lot of this material to pack up my son's clock, so it can now be transported safely.
I hope you had a happy birthday and trust you and your husband will have a healthy and happy holiday season. With kind regards-Bill S.

Dear Janice,
All three clocks have arrived in great shape (good packaging) and they all

If you have now or stumble in future on a big bronze mantle clock with two
matching candelabras, I would like to have a look at them.

Thank you very much,

THANK YOU FOR YOUR KINDESS, I WOULD LIKE TO PURCHASE MORE CLOCKS, BUT I WON'T HAVE THE MONEY UNTILL
LATE DECEMBER, PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THEY ARE STILL AVAILABLE AT THAT TIME.

Howard and Janice,

I recieved the clock today Monday the 28th. It was packed extremely well, my compliments and thanks on this. When I unpacked the clock, there were two brass washers that were loose inside the wrapping material. The washers are approx. .200" in diameter with through holes approx. .08" in diameter . They are concave shaped and similar in appearance to the outer piece of a rivet on a pair of jeans or a cymbal. Any ideas? I also noticed a lack of a receipt or correspondance inside the box, was this just an oversight or normal procedure?
Do you know the type of solder that was used to hold the latch on the piece surrounding the crystal? (the terminology is escaping me for this items name) It has come loose, my fault.
The clock seems to run very well and is in exactly the shape you told me it was. I may have to have the chiming adjusted a wee bit as the smallest gong isn't getting struck as well as it could. My thanks to you both for your help.
Thank You,
D D

Hi Howard & Janice

Sure enough, the clock arrived on Monday (today). It was in excellent condition. It came at 6:00 PM. I must say, after getting it together, I am very pleased with my recent acquisitions. I've gone to national meetings, local and regional meetings. I've never experienced such an accurate description of the hurts on a clock. I was not disappointed in the least. Please keep me in mind as you update your inventory. E-mail me of any recent acquisitions. If that's not something you do, let me know when your next website update occurs.
This has certainly been a positive experience for me. Hope to meet you sometime at one of the local meetings in your area if you attend. I may be going to the meeting in Baltimore in November.
Remember......I like Attleboro, Hatch, Goodwin, Tift, Howard and Davis, Howard, Early weight driven banjos and others. I particularky like as close to original as I can get.
There is a lyre Waltham coming up for auction in Connecticutt I would like to know more about. If you know of any Atkins wall clocks, 30 day fusee or weight driven, keep me in mind. A Silas Terry weight regulator is another clock I need for my collection. These clocks end up in my private collection, Not up for resale. I am very happy to have added these last two to my collection.
My wife Susan has already claimed the Waltham owned by the school teacher.
What state was she from?

Richard O

Dear Mr and Mrs Zimmerman,
The clock arrived yesterday, just as you predicted. I know that this will
sound just like your other customer letters, but the clock was much
better than I expected! You really did an outstanding job of packaging it,
and it was perfect when it arrived. The picture on your web site did not
do it justice- I really did not expect the case to look as good as it does. I
had it running all last night, and the movement appears to be excellent.
I was a little reluctant to purchase something over the internet at first,
but you provide a level of service that is hard to find anywhere anymore.
I really appreciate all your help and advice, and I thank you for offering
such a generous lay-a-way plan; it really does help those of us on a
budget!
I also appreciate your advice to be patient and try to locate an original
movement for my Loheide Slot Machine clock case- it was nice of you to
take the time to answer my questions. It really is hard to be patient but I
know that you are right- it is better to take time to try to do it right. (If you
ever hear of a movement, or an complete example for sale, though,
please keep me in mind)!
One last thing- please let me know if I did not include enough money for
shipping- the UPS charge was not on the box, and I certainly want to
reimburse you if it cost you more than I thought it would. Thanks again!

The clock arrived this morning and took almost as long to unpack it as the delivery time!
It arrived AOK without any fuss or damage and is now set up and running.
Thanks for an excellent job of packing ‹ I have found there are some

Like MacArthur "I will be back" when you have something else to tempt me.
I am doing quite a lot of buying over the net and find it gives
better choice, better quality and even with shipping costs is quite
competitive with what I would have to pay here if I could get it.

Your night-clock arrived in good condition & I'm very happy with it. I don't
think it is a night clock however, but a FRENCH decorative'verre
eglomise' wall clock circa 1800-1830. How unusual for it to be in such
good condition. The spike inside is not, in my opinion, for a candle but
rather to hold the key.The burn marks explain nothing except that a
naked flame was near the dial at some time. It is a very rare & unusual
piece & I am sure my client will grab it. I will try to ring you at 4pm

Dear Howard

I am so happy with the clock I bought from you that I would
like another one! It is:
Ansonia Crystal Regulator "Rouen"
Stock Number:134-615
$525.00

This is dated 1920 - does that mean I would have to pay VAT as it is
not 100 years old, or does the fact that it is 'second hand' determine
the VAT?

Before I go ahead, could you let me know the total cost?

Thanks

Tim

Hi Howard Clock is working beautifully and has a mellow bong.

I spoke to the Customs people here who agreed that VAT
should not have been charged and that it was charged on
$600.

I need to give them a document that gives the date of the
clock and the actual cost (ie $495). Could I trouble you to
send me a paper receipt showing this info? I think it will
have to be 'official' so an email won't do.

Greatly obliged.
